Genuine antique Victorian wrought iron gates. From A Large Stately Home. These gates came with the contents of a large stately home I do not know the age but the house was built 1840. They are very nicely made with a pivot pin at the bottom, riveted through the bars etc at the top (see photos) showing they are blacksmith made. These gates are extremely well made Victorian gates with thick solid wrought iron, completely superior to modern hollow square box section steel , they are built like a tank.
All of the decoration and bar work has been made by hand. There is a built in lock which will need replacing and huge iron hinges which can be taken off or reused if desired they are over 2ft long! These were planned to be used for the main entrance but as two lanes are required I now need estate gates.
They should ideally be cleaned (sandblasted) and then repainted but it is up to you. If they was repainted they would look amazing. T hese gates will easily last your lifetime if maintained every often. Height at outer sides: 200cm.Width of one gate: 148cm. Width of both together: 297cm. Height does not include the pivot pins (which could be ground off if desired).
Width does not include the hinges. Please see my other items. The item "19th C Wrought Iron Gates, From A Stately Home, 3M Wide, Very Heavy" is in sale since Saturday, June 27, 2020.
