This is fairly new and made to look old. It was with the lock when I got it.
So if you have a nice old door and you want a lock all ready to be fitted this will work just fine. I rather like this lock as its Victorian I think going by the KEY bow shape. The business end of the key is nice too as its sort of SSS shaped... I have just noticed actually on the lock itself where the 2 bolts go across inside..
This flat plate MAY have two punched in makers marks which look like CROWNS. The lock mechanism can be seen which is nice and has fancy shaped parts as well as the barrel lock mechanism top is domed with a decorated end. It is clever how the key works the mechanism and quite intriguing how each part moves the further you move the key in the lock. In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. No damage to the metalware from what I can see but the metalware is tarnished.P lease see all pictures provided for more details. 7 and 3/4 inch long x 6 and 1/2 inch widest part x 4 and 3/4 inch at the straight side width.
The lock part where the new bit has been made on the end is 4 and 3/4 inch long x 2 and 1/2 inch wide. The key is just over 5 and a 1/4 inch long. The lock being 2 and 1/2 inch from the front plate to the top of the finial on the domed business part of the lock. Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter. In the title or description it means.
